Started my hobby back up again after years of absence. I used to be a member of BASC for over 25 years but let my membership lapse due to lack of use. Is BASC still the top shooting body to join for airgun shooters or are there alternatives. I would love to know what everyone does for insurance and legal backing in regards to protect their own shooting interests.
I simply buy the cheapest insurance I can get, then obey the law.
I can't see me having a legal problem when I only shoot on farms, so why bother with legal cover?
As far as I can gather, BASC aren't as good as they used to be anyway.
I'm with cc3 and as Captain Brooksy says ..obey the Law and be safe.
I'm with BASC as I am lazy. I basically went with BASC when looking for perms as they are a very recognisable organisation.....set up the monthly DD and kind of left it......its something I will look to change in the future.
CCC I hear are very good and also Gunplan (or one of its sister companies). BASA always used to be the cheapest from Airgun world.
I've never had to use any of them in anger though.
BASC at least put their money back in to shooting the others are just money making funds for their investors.
IIRC only about £10 of the BASC fee is for the insurance, the rest for other aspects of membership.
As for which is best ? read the small print very, VERY carefully ::)
