Hi
I need now a probe as indicated in title. I went to Uncle Bob but his shop is closed for this item until next week. Is there any other trusted supplier for this part?
Check with KevG....
He may have what you need ..or can machine one up!!
Good Luck,
Stuart
Hi Stuart
How's life across the pond?
This is the last task on this rifle, with the strip down and rebuild, you and I spoke about recently. Kev and I are in talks at the moment, he suggested Dr Bob.
Well life on this side of the pond...Living with High Anxiety..
Not fun having you Country being run by a bunch of Clowns...
If you happen to have a RAW dealer on your side of the Pond..
RAW still sells Rapid bits on their Website!!
Good Luck again....
Stuart
Ha ha Stuart, well you are not the only sufferers, its a three ring circus here too. The worst collection of stoners you could ever wish to meet. The worst it has been in our history, if you and I arranged a swop, neither of us would benefit.
The tip about a RAW dealer is well worth a look, thanks again for your help. Denis.
I've got a spare probe set, but I'm unsure what calibre it came from. It's 6 mm diameter, so it will most likely be .22.
It's off an early mark 2, length is 32 mm which is a touch shorter than some I've seen.
You can have it to try if you like.
Thank you what a nice gesture. I will accept that I can compare like for like here. If good I will reimburse you or whatever suits you. D Hall, 11 Min y Rhos. Goodwick. SA640HY. And thank you. :D
I'll send it out as soon as possible mate. Don't worry about money.
Cheers Brooksy appreciated. Denis.
Posting tomorrow morning mate.
Thanks Brooksy. I will measure and compare and will keep you posted on the success or failure of the project. Cheers for now back later.Denis.
Probe Set on the way, but the wankers didn't scan it in, so I have no tracking.
Hi Brooksy, arrived here just now. will get back to you later cheers Denis.
:) Pleased to hear it mate.
Hi Brooksy
The probe and pin is yes too small. But on exam moving from the probe to examine the breach. It shows a small area inside the mouth, before the lands start a small gouge. A small portion of metal has been raised. It is this that stops the probe forming any measure of seal. How or what could cause such a wound is beyond my reasoning. So on the bench and fine application of Swiss file, the problem is removed. Accuracy and performance is spot on, with an adequate seal at probe.Job done.
nice work m8

Very good. I'm pleased you've managed to put it to good use.
