Title: Starting up again
Post by: Paul brov on October 09, 2024, 04:53:05 PM
Hi, looking to get my head around the new things on rapid variants out there I've had mk1, mk2, mfr in years gone by.
I now have bit more time and a few squizzers i need to sort. Without opening a massive can of worms what are the benefits or differences to the Frankenstein types!

Well me lol I've just kept it all simple tbh, I have my old Mark 1 in the box right now under the bed and i keep it so safe, I really don`t want to or need to change it`s look apart from putting a new stock on it from custom stocks plus a new reg from KevG plus barrel mod cut down to 19" by KevG.

So i guess my gun is just a KevG gun but i cannot complain as it`s bang on and i love it so all`s good for me.

Think I'm mk2 or mfr also interested in the rapid variants/frakenrapids as I've never used one but look good

You know something, I`ve had a Mrk 2, but sold it to go back to the Mrk 1 due to weight on the gun or balance but then KevG brought in the mini reg and i personally think it brought the Mrk 1 in line with the Mrk 2.

Not sure on everyone`s thoughts on this but apart from fac the mark 1 packs a punch against the Mrk 2 regulated.

Noted the Mrk 2 does have a better trigger by far!

Depends on what you call a frankenrapid, (love the name, highly likely to borrow it 8) ) and more importantly what's been done & who built it.
Two of mine were built up from parts bought over a few years & sometimes the action may be put in to a chassis rail.
Changing the cal is common, as is swapping to the MFR quick change bottle valve, playing with different mods, or fitting a quick fill.
Sadly equally common is a moron drilling out the barrel port far too big & poor quality homemade parts.

Mine change fairly regularly atm they look like this
