Title: MFR - Shorty version
Post by: Tim_B on April 26, 2024, 06:12:56 AM
Hi all.  I am currently in the process of selling my RAW chassis, which has led to me having a spare block.....a quick rummage in the shed and I had a stock, barrel and reg all ready to go.

When @KevG set the chassis up with (a different) short barrel, the reg was around 140 bar, so I knew this other reg had to be set similar.  Having been in the shed a while and a quick chat with Kev himself, it was winging its way up for a service.

72hrs later the reg is back with me....chuff the man is quick!  Apparently its an older style reg, possibly from an Anschutz which Kev had sorted a while back.  Thanks for the swift service @KevG, much appreciated.

So last night I put the rifle together so that its ready for testing at the weekend.  I can't remember for the life of me if the barrel is any good, so will be interesting to see how it does.

Have to say, I loved the chassis however there's just something about the short sporter look that does it for me.

An update:  A bit of pellet testing at the weekend and went through the usual JSB suspects and whilst none were bad, they weren't grouping how I would like at 40 yards.....so then tried QYS....nope.......then H&N FT's....nope......then Barracuda 8's...yep.  Nice groups, so pushed it out to 50 and was ringing the bell most times....between 2p and 5p size groups consistently....that'll do for the length of barrel...its hardly a BR candidate  :-)

Happy days
