Post by: Richard1537 on March 12, 2024, 10:33:22 AM
Hi KevG, I've an FAC mk1 rapid 7 and wanted to go regulated with 30/40ft if possible. Can you give me a shout if possible and let me know what you can do.

Thanks

Several versions of ' mk1' requiring more than just a reg.

If its a Rapid 7, the smaller fastflow porting and block volume (as the inlet plenum is shallower) will be limiting issues.
Will need a shortcore reg, a pre-chamber extension, ideally a short body valve to claw back an extra cc.and porting.
Pushind hard you might get 32-33fpe with 18s.

A mk1 with Gamo trigger  '99-2000 onwards marked 'Theoben Rapid systems'' has the mk2s deeper inlet plenum but still has small porting.
IDK about a mk1/mk2 square front/slab sided FAC block with Sporter trigger ??
Again don't know if those have the later 7x0.75 threaded barrel location screw and thru-porting? .

The latest mk1-essentially a fast flow mk2 in ambi stock.will take a reg but 40fpe would still require some extra volume, custom reg and valve.

The Ebay shortcore 'R7/MK1' regs won't work properly  in the standard Rapid 7 early mk1 block- the port is blocked by the reg.
Quality and reliability is very hit and miss, I have two that kept failing at FAC pressures.
