Title: Loud hammer noise
Post by: telbert on January 24, 2024, 05:37:20 PM
Hi Kev, after reviewing some recordings ive taken with my Arken Zulus ive realised that the hammer noise is really loud on my .22 FAC R7. What do you suggest to bring the level down?
TIA

Is it a metallic sound...or is it more of a pop..sound????
Metallic sound can be reduced with a Delrin hammer pip.
But if it more of a popping sound, this could be an O-ring problem..
Either the O-ring on the Valve-stem or the Tail O-ring on the Valve-Body..
KevG should be showing up with his more Expert(Doctor Rapid) diagnosis...

Good Luck,
Stuart

Hi Stuart, its definitely a metallic, mechanical noise. Ive never noticed it before but its quite apparent on the recording, even though i claimed the first squizzer on the ground today under the feeder without the other 2 on the feeder raising an eyebrow and allowing me to send one to his maker with the next shot.
Perhaps its not as loud as i think it is, but i'd still like to do something to lessen it.

Yep...It Sounds like a Delrin Pip is what your looking for..
No Pun intended..... ;D  ;D  ;D
KevG Makes them.. so  the Rapid Doctor should be showing up soon...
Or Maybe the Zombie Rabid Fox has him chained to his lathe...
But I am sure once he frees himself, he can help you with what you need!

yes a silent pip may cure the excessive noise, depending on what's causing it
