Title: Inconsistent reg
Post by: angrybear on December 02, 2023, 04:15:03 PM
Gents, I'm having a nightmare with the reg in one of my MFR .20 cals.
Bought it off the bay a few months back & came with a short core, I can't get the short core below about 135bar, so I've swapped that for a std core.

After much faffing I've got it around 110bar, maxing at 11.6ftlb, but it's wildly inconsistent between 23-44 fps variation over a 12 shot magazine, it's got just enough end float to see/feel & 16 bellevilles in single pairs ()()() all new O rings fitted.

Any ideas to get it back in single figures.

Get Kev to make you one, there great, i had a 16 shot string with no deviation at all, I've tried lane regs, Huma and another, nothing matched the consistency of Kevg's

guess it depends what thickness belvilles are on the shortcore but 6x 0.5mm should be good for 80-100 bar.
If thicker 0.6mm are more suited to 120+ and probably have very little preload under 100bar.

If you buy some 0.5s probably need to get a vernier on it to set the end-float,maybe around  0.5mm.

In my limited (frustrated) experience with  Ebay/PCPGP jobs I'd put the inconsistency down to the core nose.
