Title: FAC .177 shot count
Post by: Andyshoots on October 31, 2023, 06:49:52 PM
Hi all, very long story short but I have a quick question please. I have slots in.177 and .22 air and want my rapid on ticket (I've done this before with 2 falcons in either calibre)
I've spoken with MrG about this and am happy to go either .177 or .22, (have both barrels) but I don't want to take the piss and call every 5 mins with every question I have so I thought I'd ask here.
From what Kev says the reg is gonna be set at around 150bar, does anyone on here have a rough estimate on shots from a 400cc bottle in .177 at let's say 18ftlb? Reason I'm asking is I'm not sure whether or not to go ahead and buy a 500cc carbon bottle or to keep the 400. And on a side note..... are the 500cc carbon bottle dimensions the same as alloy because I have a Gary cane stock that's fitted to the 400.
Thanks in advance guys and girls.
Andy

Carbon bottles tend to be around 62mm rather than 60mm - you could fit a 500cc luxfer bottle as its the same as a 400cc just longer

One of the Theoben tech data sheets says shot count for a MK2 .177: 220@12fpe, 70@20fpe, 30@30fpe.

I'm sure Kev can add at least 10% to those figures because he's a genius like that 8).

I also have to say that converting to FAC instantly knocks 1/3 off the value of a sub 12,
You'd be far better off buying a cheaper FAC rifle, swapping your stock & selling the sub 12.
