People will pay that price m8, imo the rapid is a great gun and worth every penny.

would never buy from a gun shop my self,they are just choped in against a new gun and very realy checked by the shop.

Trade prices have been high for a while now, Perkins of Daventry for example regularly advertise nice-ish examples MRFs, Annies, for £1200-1400.
BAR also stick a hefty price tag on Rapids and wait for nibble.
Even FACs have had a little spring bump, mostly mk2s but £650-700 for guns that have probably been traded in at giveaway prices.
Looking on GT/GS private asking prices are hitting £800-900 for non-descript Rapid 7s and mk1s- £1000+ for mk2s.
Few bargains out there but at least it means guns are less likely to be broken although there may be a few more dogs on the market.
I'm pretty sure I paid £540 for a brand new Mk1 to Theoben in 1992.Crazy.

And at the other end of the scale, just bought a MK1 Tyolean stock which is unmarked, unfortunately it has a small amount of pitting on the Barrel and mod, but I gave £100 for it, another one saved from the Rapid breakers completely original I am trying to find when it was built, serial no is 008300

I have done a lot of unpaid work for this person, he wanted to give it to me for nothing, I said no I must give you something he thought it was too much, but I said it's worth a few quid, but he said all the work you've done for me. I need to get the barrel reblued and the moderator if anyone knows or recommends anybody. a strip down and service with new o rings wouldn't do it any harm either , but it's completely unmolested, so worth keeping in original condition.

It`s in really good condition too. If you do decide to buy it just say you found it on the link from the Rapid Forum & i`m sure you`ll get it at a lower price.
the thing is all the gun makes have increased in price. eg airarms s410s going for around £650,around 4 years ago you could pick one up for around £350.

Chap chances upon it a month ago in an RFD side deal. Offered more than the RFD.
Looked like a nice untouched example in March,
Todays market £1000-£1200...trader such as Perkins would ask £1400+
Buggers up the stock fitting a BF quick fill to save on 'o-ring worries' snapping off the l/h front edge at some point..
Added C/F bottle and a heavier? scope on high mounts ..obviously ruining the balance combined with the QF as 'he cant get on with it unless it's rested'
Rough/no idea on value ::) and chancing £1500....because it cost him £300 to bugger it up.
Prepared to negotiate on bare gun sans scope & mounts ;D ;D

Such a shame, because you don't even need a quick fill on a MFR My one is completely standard bought it brand new in 2003 and it's probably not had a tin of pellets through it, I have a Mk1 the same in .20 completely standard, its a characteristic of that period of Rifle, so best left like they are.
The only one i have with quickfill is my FAC mk2 because when it gets used on Rats I tend to end up doing 250 shots Plus a night, so it's a bit quicker, but I had a custom stock made and still have the original stock which is in good order, so easy enough to put back to standard.

seen that one myself, I was cringing when he suggested putting a quick fill and a carbon bottle on. Now wanting £1500 for an MFR with a butchered stock!
I wasn't even sure that it was the same stock in the dark image, but the grain matches in bottom and middle pics and there a small dink off picture that match middle and top.
Probably darker because of angle, indoor flash and fresh oil.
I guess thats why RFDs ask for silly money when a good example turns up.
