Hi what are your views on the early RAW's The HM1000, not the new HM1000x, or the Theoben MFR.
I understand they are basically the same components, slight differences in the RAW Reg so I am led to believe.
Think the HM is bit heavier than the MFR.
What are you preferences on both Rifles.
Cheers
i prefer the raw , i like a side lever over the bolt and also the raw barrel clamping from on top of the scope rail
Having had most of the rapids and the Raw I prefer the Raw , I just see it as an evolutionary step forward from the rapid
I'm also going to agree ..Raw is much easier/better with the side lever, it's just sublime...
Now just waiting for them to up their game as with others and bring out a semi-Auto version that would be just heaven..lol :)
Do you reckon the earlier HM models are better built than the later HMX ones, I nearly had the TM1000, wish I had bought it now, I know they are heavy Rifles but as you say very well built.
Personally I think any difference between new airforce made and the older Martin made is solely in the hopes of the owners of the older guns and maybe the final set up ,
The HM is dimensionally the same as a rapid but with side cocking the Hm1000x block is longer has a larger plenum volume and a wider mag gap for the longer 30 and 357 slugs and they can make more power

Not all 1000x blocks have the wide magwell thought it was just the new airforce ones, mines has a standard well
It is the latest airforce blocks that are wider , when Martin did them upto .25 was std Theoben width and .30 and .357 were wider and the block longer ,
Now they are all the same larger gap
