Title: MFR Regulator
Post by: blueboy on December 24, 2022, 10:50:07 AM
Hi just striped one of my MFR's,  found a few things wrong.

!/ locking grub screw missing from cocking bolt to lock the probe into the barrel to seal, if someone can tell me the sizes on that grub screw cheers.

2/ The disc seal for the top of the reg probe, someone has tried to get it out not sure what they tried to use on it, where the two small holes are they have hit it with something and pushed a hole right through and hit the o'ring seal underneath, which in turn pushed the thread out against the main body, so will need a new one there.

3/ The reg core was fitted with 5 belville washers, can someone confirm for the MFR reg how many there should be, also the configuration of the layout, will need to get a new one or have the delrin seal on top machined flat again.

The rest looks to be in good condition.

The stem that fits inside the valve, can it have the extra o'ring fitted or just the one, Im sure I have read it is better with 2 on.

Would really appreciate some info on the above Cheers.

easy way would be send me the reg to sort out.regarding bellevile washers numbers it realy depends on how the regs been done and set up.standard core normaly as around 16,short core 7 to 8.locking grub screw should be m3.

Yes I know & I was adding that some aren't 3mm  ::) the earlier ones are 4BA instead.

one way around the wrong screw fits, but needs threadlock, the other way the wrong screw can strip the thread.

Don't be surprised if it is neither 4ba or 3mm ... I have a mk2 bolt with a 2ba locking grub.
