Post by: Rapid7bee on March 27, 2022, 08:38:30 PM
Hi all,I got a Rapid mk2 and I've set the regulator to 110 bar,I'm getting Readings on the chrono from 11.2 to 12 +,I've backed off the hammer spring then it drops to  10.8 - 12,why is it fluctuating so much and what can I do to improve it.Any help appreciated

Is it creeping? power rising the longer you leave it between shots.

what calibre?

Didn't notice as wasnt leaving much time between shots, its in .22 but when reloading magazine it'll drop of low then fluctuating all over the shop

reg is set way to high for .22 12ftlbs, it needs to be 1200 psi 83 bar, also when reg is set to high when bottle pressure drops below reg set pressure the gun will go over limit.if you now set reg properly you will find power will be up,so will need to adjust hammer spring tension

Might also be worth checking it's got a sub 12 hammer pip, not the short FAC one.

I set Reg to around  83 bar,but she is still shooting erratic.set at 90 and 80 bar but still same,1ftlb diff in shots even, if I fire continuously or wait after every shot.what could it be?

could be a few things, dodgy mag try single loading/sticky valve n stem, bad bent inner probe or probe adjustment/dirty or oily hammer  ,it should be clean and polished, problem with inertia weight, loose hammer pip, dodgy hammer spring or badly fitting spring guide shite pellets.

It could be loads of things, quite possible that someone had it set "hot" and it just needs going right through, end to end to ensure it's all now sub 12 spec & correctly set up.

Early mk2 with mk2 'sporter trigger' ?

if you can rule everything else out reg, valve, probe/mag, hammer .... apparently a badly adjusted trigger can make the hammer drag on the sear.

yes normally the sear piston pre load screw can cause hammer drag if adjusted to far in.

You wont believe it,I stripped it twice and cleaned all internals and tried a different hammer spring, valve stem different pellets and it was still the same.I shot at a wooden  block in the garden and noticed pellets shooting left and Right,It was only clipping the fricking silencer.all sorted now thanks guys
