Title: Exhaust valve with filter
Post by: etiam viviens on February 27, 2022, 05:55:01 PM
My Rapid has an valve with a sinter filter butt the sealing surface is not that good. Can this be lapped with gritt 2000.

I have an other valve that has no filter can i use the same spring for this valve.

Or do i need a complete set? And if this is the case does KevG make these and is he allready working on Rapids again.

Need to talk to KecG or anyone with a lathe....
What you need is a collar the will fit in the Valve cover Plug Screw.
This to take up the space where that sintered bronze filter used to be!
It will keep the spring centered..

Good Luck,
Stuart

I just recently did the swap on my .25 FAC,
The spring on the sintered bronze filter is a lot shorter (15mm) & the blanking plug has a wide dished face for the filter to sit in.
The nylon valve spring is between 20-25mm & you need a blanking plug with the 8mm hole as a spring guide.

Just swapping valves upped power from 42fpe to 45fpe, I assume from the extra air volume.
