Hello All,
Is the hammer/ profile/shape different for a MK3 trigger to that of a MK4?
As prices for blocks have gone daft am thinking of buying a bare block but only trigger available is a MK3.
Thanks.
Vard.
they are more angled on the mk3 were the sear contact area is,some will work and some won't.dr Bob does serries 4 triggers and and hammers

Hey up Kev. Thanks for reply. He's hoarding the triggers though isnnt he for the vendetta builds ?
I believe you have messaged me?

I've recently built two bare blocks up and its a very expensive (but satisfying) way to go. Personally I think its better as you know the parts you are fitting, but when you think a SH Block is what? ?500? ?250 to ?300 of that is easily the internals. A bare block is going to be ?200 at least.
Both Dr Bob and Kev G have been brilliant for all the questions I ask and parts they have supplied....
I've got these two both from mk2 blocks I've bought, but obviously different profile.
Can anyone tell me why they're different ?
For different trigger units.

Yes. That was me Bob. Thanks.
Looking at them in your picture...
But with No measurements in hand... They both should function with the Mark3 of Mark 4 trigger...
The only difference, in the picture... The top ring for the cocking dog to catch and pull back the hammer
is Thicker...
In travels.... I have found the MKII Sporter(teardrop safety knob), Mark 3 and Mark 4 hammers are interchangeable.
At least the once that come over to my side of the Pond!
The hammer have very slight differences... but they will work with any of the above triggers

if you study closely the one one the left as a angled sear contact area,I found these hammers did not always work on serries 4 triggers, maybe they changed to sears on the serries 4 triggers over time, its something I've never realy studied but will start checking every serries 4 trigger from now on just to see if there is a slight difference between serries 4 trigger sears

Hmmmm..... :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\
On all my hammer I have turn a slight chamfer of the sear ring...
But not as pronounced......
Very interesting....
Thanks kevg, Cheers

That is an interesting trigger....
Since I was Probably the first to make this setup...

Then I improved my design...

These setup use the Anschutz Trigger blade!

Aaa,i have actually just noticed my one doesn't have a safety lol,I have only had it a few hours, was too busy looking at everything else, never mind I have got a spare mk4 trigger cassette I can sort it out with

Thanks Kev,
thinking about it the one on the left might well have come from a block with a mk3 trigger.
