Title: SSG

Do these help with shot count

Yes - with no hammer bounce you don't waste any air - so the shot count will increase.
They also help with consistency- the rapids I use them in give less than 2 fps SD over the chrono

Here's a photo I took of a 14 shot chrono string

Forgot to mention ...... that chrono string was done with my early mk1 .22 and has a normal bottle adaptor fitted - no regulator 👍

What is SSG?

Spring Stop Guide - very clever how they work and stop hammer bounce 👍

There's a pic of 2 with different springs fitted

I think in the new year and I know everything's ok at Kev's end I will put my name on one to test out.

Daz your results are mega and I bet your over the moon with it. I remember watching a vid with it in a tube the results staggered me

Yep youre talking about kevs double tap inertia - great design and it works a treat mate 👍

Thank for that I will have to try one. What is the double tap inertia

The double tap inertia setup was designed by Kev G - a normal rapid inertia weight only taps the hammer once to try and stop hammer bounce. Kevs design hits the hammer twice which stops any bounce dead. You can get similar results with a double tap - as the hammer bounce is eliminated it does increase shot count and consistency like the SSG but without the increased cocking effort.

They do work very well and can be fitted to any rapid 👍

Here is a shot string using a double tap inertia setup in a mk1 .22

I do have to mention ..... all of the shot strings shown used pellets straight from the tin - they are not weighed or sorted for head size - so as you can see the SSG and double tap inertia setups really do make the rapid design super efficient and without the aid of a regulator 👍

Thanks again for that

Was there a video somewhere showing the std inertia weight v the double tap .
Personally I like the idea of the ssg to propel thehammer then stop before the strike makes sense

There was a video showing the effect the double tap has on stopping hammer bounce - the ssg and double tap both stop bounce but in different ways .. both produce very good results and have enhanced the rapid design 👍
