Title: Back in the day
Post by: Kernal on December 14, 2021, 08:56:44 PM
In the 1980`s when i was young my mum bought me a game for my c64,.......It was called light force!

The music was by Rob Hubbard, the game was written by Gargoyle Games, it cost £1.99 back then and when i loaded it up that took about 30 min`s to do i was gob smacked WOW, the music was by my good friend Rob Hubbard and the code was well splattered into 64k of ram that i had my Expert Cartridge to disassemble, the code.

And the next day i had my very own demo running on the c64 that was uploaded to Compunet,  Boom fame at last got it and boy did my phone ring after that BOOM..... I was then born a machine code hacker of games back from the 1980`s WOW.

But it didn`t stop at that..... Then i contacted Ocean Software...and BOOM once again coding from my bedroom only little bits of code to complete games for them all done via a modem to Manchester.

I remember all these good time`s,

Happy days they was,

If i was honest,....If at Christmas day i didn`t get my C64 then today would have been so very , very different!  I would not know how to code or hack code or even write the dam stuff,

As much as thing`s have changed code wise, from 6510 or 6502 or z80 to html or python and on and on it`s all the same in binary zero`s one 1`s,...Break the code down and it all come`s down to 0 and 1`s when all is said and done and when you know how to code from hex to decimal and code to memory and screen positioning, that is a game changer.
