Yes Heli-Coil will repair your damage thread in your rapid...
But if you have access to a machine shop.
There is a better solution!
I have been using Time-serts for sometime now, in aluminum!
They are full steel inserts.. no more galled threads!!

Here is one I used in the 10-22 Takedown receiver I Machined.

Good Luck,

Before you do any drilling for an insert just check the depth of the stripped thread.

The block on one of mine is stripped for the first 1/4" but there's almost 1/2" of good thread under that so I just use a longer bolt  ;)
Start with the bolt in the stock as far as it goes in & measure how much thread protrudes through on the inside, (measurement A)
Now measure the depth of the hole, (B).

Subtract A from B and what's left (C) should be good usable thread for a longer bolt.
Then add C on to the length of your existing bolt & that's the length of the new bolt you want,
use a washer on the bolt when you fit it to give a bit of clearance at the bottom of the hole.

It's a good idea to just chase out the thread, make sure it's clean & dome head hex bolts in 1/4"unf are cheap on the bay

A better idea might be to fit a stud and chemical lock it if there is any thread left. In my crimes against Rapid block box I have one that has been drilled out and breeched the reg chamber.
