Title: placing a Lane regulator
Post by: etiam viviens on September 08, 2021, 03:27:38 PM
I have bought an Lane regulator with a large plenum do have an question about mounting it.

The buddy bottle valve needs to be removed an the regulator should be placed directly on the bottle, the valve needs to on the other end see picture.

Was wondering if there is an way to remove the bottle adaptor and to mount the regulator with plenum directly without the bottle adaptor. This would make a direct use of the plenum and will not extend the bottle so much foreward.

Ik do know that the bottle cannot be removed unless the pressure has been released.
Hope someone has an idea how to do this.

Lane mk10 regulator manual ...shoul be an adapter for direct connection

edit....
OR NOT....... as it appears that the image is a generic mock-up. ;D

I'd guess that you'll need to contact Lane or search for a suitable adapter

Simple fix would be to use a shorter mk1 bottle holder. and remove the valve pip.

You Need to talk to a machinist......

There are plenty adapter for sale in hydraulics hardware store, yours look nicer and and when it is in titanium its very nice.

Is there a reason way one should not mount a standard one. It looks like yours has more windings so more holding surface. The hydraulic ones are rated between 380 and 420 bar so that should not be problem but these are steel and the block is aluminium so maybe the extra length of thread is to make is safe?

I asked Lane Regulators and I was told it was a photo shopped picture to do show a possibility.
