Title: Understanding regs
Post by: Aggy on July 23, 2021, 06:42:12 PM
Ok guys I know what regs do and how they work but other than the volume of air space a std reg would take up inside the block over a micro core reg why do they use them ,I guess the question is what if any are the benefits or each

basically like you say just give a little more volume to the pre chamber air space.dont make much difference in sub 12 but do give them an edge.also the extra volume can help with velocity difference at difference temperatures such as very hot to very cold days

Hi Kev as you know mine has been a bit of a pain ,not sure if I should just ditch mine and stick a regular size one in rather than you bringing mine back from the dead , I don't need power with this gun ,it's just my sub 12 garden plinker maybe indoor vermin wher fac would be too much

Also as you go up in calibers.....Bore size...
They larger Calibers will benefit from the extra volume...
It helps with consistency  in velocity.

Gone from .22 to .177 with this one and don't need the power

with the extra short barrel and in.177 the gun is having to work harder so does help more.sure yours could be made as good as new.

Going Down in size will also Benefit from the additional pre-chamber space too!
Now you are restricting the Air flow...
So the goal of added volume is Consistency....Still....
