Title: Scope ring screws
Post by: etiam viviens on July 11, 2021, 05:47:25 PM
Maybe a strange question butt i removed the scope rings and they are two different screws. Looks the foreward hole has a bushing in which the screw for de barrel is located.

The aft has a  bigger screw, does someone has a idea what thread this should be. In the parts diagram both are the same.

I would like to place a 11 mm rail butt it looks like the screws do not fitt

The Front mounting hole is normal.
It is a large threaded insert that has a tapered tip to index the barrel.
It is also has a 2BA thread hole in the middle to mount the front scope ring....

It looks like someone modified the rear scope ring mounting hole!
They are supposed to be the same size...2BA
You need to have it re-thread with a threaded insert to bring it back to normal!!

Probably a previous owner over tightened the original and stripped the thread.

Looks that way, i will look for the original A2B screws only need one to mount the 11mm base plate.

I have a hard time finding this screw in Holland, the A2B code seems to be countersunk screw but wat is the thread on this in Imperial does someone know.

Most of the 11mm rails come with the screws & they are counter sunk for the mounts to fit over them.
You will keep the front barrel locator so only need 1 screw for that, you will need to modify the rail to fit your rear screw.

it's 2BA not A2B and 2BA is the thread size/pitch in imperial.
