Title: Field Target Trophy & Bisley Magnum both in .22
Post by: Kernal on November 25, 2020, 09:45:31 AM
Well today i`m going back out with my rapid Mrk1 regulated pressure pushing around the 11.50lbs mark, So here i was to test both the " Field Target Trophy .22 " & the " Bisley Magnum .22 "

Now the Field Target Trophy pellet weight is around the 14.66 grain,  And the Bisley Magnum pellet weight is around the 21 grain,
Now i`m going to be shooting the Bisley magnum out of a sub 12lbs rapid what would i need to expect to see when i do this as the Bisley Magnum has much more grain weight than the Target Trophy,

What i`m aiming for is a pellet that will get through small branches on tree`s much better than the lighter Target Trophy was producing yesterday when i was shooting the magpie`s as some shots even though it looked like i had a clear shot through the scope,..the pellet was hit by some small branch and i missed due to the lack of power to smash through them small hard to see branches that always seem to be around when you dont expect them too.

So what do you all think,...am i wasting my time or is it worth a shot giving the Bisley Magnum a go!

:)

In my opinion the heavier pellets although they may break through branches will be deflected making your shot inaccurate and also reducing the final impact power of the pellet.

My 22 absolutely hated the Bisleys, couldn't get a decent grouping at all with them

The Bisley magnum are good at fac level not sure at sub 12.
Which scope do you have as you should be able to see small branches with ease.

Regards kev.

Mine`s an old Tasco scope as you can see in photos of my gun around this forum,...I`ve had the scope since i was 15 years old,...I think it could be getting time for a new updated scope maybe  8)

I instead of using the above pellets i changed my mind and tried these pellets out and wow was the answer just wow hole in hole at 40 yards easy.

Turn the mag on your scope to the lowest setting and surprisingly
all the offending twigs will appear as if by magic.
