Impressive Work as Usual KevG!!
I sort of like the contrast of brass and steel....
So is RAW/TechForce CNC lathes not running true?
Sad that their Quality has slip since being sold!!

very hit and miss Stuart m8.known early and late tms have the problem.its not just pip run out but on some of them you can see the forward portion(after cocking collar)osalate when run in a lathe.i wonder if the case hardening proces does some thing to the hammer were its very thin walled.

actually was just a dummy run in brass but it worked that good and improved things for him I left it as it was.better turning brass than stainless 316😁

Now that is real sad Story....
Since this could be attributed to the hardening of the Hammer!
Because the part needs to be ground to true up and to size!!
So they are saving a couple of $$!!

I spoke to Chip Smith, when he was doing  his custom one off Parts!!
He Told me he made special spinning Jigs for hammers and Bolt bodies!
So He would spin grind all his harden parts to spec!

Just a Sad Story....
Cheers M8 for the some Great Info, as usual!

Brilliant work Kev - do like the contrast between the stainless and brass too 👍
Did it add any weight to the hammer?

its same weight daz.just moded it to make it straight😁he is a top completion shooter on the 25 mtr bench rest.if pellet hits 1mm of he wants the gun striping.their standards and expectations are very high..

Must be good if he's doing benchrest mate - top precision for that! Looks a great job on the hammer 👍
