Title: Anyone recognise this Quick Fill?
Post by: Thegogg on October 31, 2020, 11:22:25 AM
Does anyone recognise this QF/Gauge adaptor, is it an early Best Fittings or Dr Bob perhaps?

A bottle without a valve screws in one end and the other screws directly to the reg or free/fast flow bottle connector.

Thanks for the replies. Is it just a simple case of fitting it to a bottle and then screwing it on to the reg/bottle connector with the O rings creating a seal? If this is the case, I take it if the bottle ever needed to be removed then all the air would need to be drained before removing the bottle (slackening the gauge or QF to do this)?

Yes...
if it was one of Dr Bob's.
He included couple of small needle bearing pins and a small screw.
You connected the QF socket insert a pin then screw in the small to deflate your rapid.

Another way , How I do mine,,,
If you don't have an anti-tamper plug..
I unscrew the hammer adjuster remove the hammer springs..
Then I use a dowel just long enough I can screw in the hammer adjuster a couple of turns.
Then as you tighten the hammer adjuster, it will press the hammer against the main valve..releasing air!

That was copied too but he made it too complicated and expensive :) So he has "allegedly" made a limited number to make them worth more.

A guy called Jacko copied the conversion but overcomplicated it and made it too expensive.

Bob.
