I had the TTR2 out today and it was like a laser, I just could not believe the accuracy.

I`ve alway`s wondered is the synthetic stocks lighter than the wooden one`s,....I`ve always wondered if they are,...Plus i can bet they are hard wearing too :D
This is a wooden stock on this one. The synthetic stocks were prone to bending.

Really why`s that Bob,
From what I have read the synthetic stocks would not hold the screws for the accessory rail very well and were prone to bending if the gun was left propped up in the sun or in the heat such as against a radiator and this was why Theoben moved to the black painted wooden version that is on my gun. I believe underneath the paint is a walnut stock but I am not about to strip it to find out. I am sure some of the guru's on the forum would be able to verify this.

Could you not remove the butt pad to verify this as i would be interested to find out if this is true?

stock wise you had the early guns with synthetic stocks made by Staffordshire synthetic stocks in green or black they only did 25-35 of each colour as there were problems with the rail securing screws, then you had the walnut stock in oiled/varnished finish and the walnut stock with the black stain/paint finish (have seen both) stock had the same bipod rail as the s type and bipod stud.
TTR 1 and 2 stocks are the same design, the one in the picture is a synthetic one made by SSS, gun is a bitsa not a correct ttr stock worth about 200-300, check at the pistol grip for bendings as they have been known to bend and sometimes crack under the weeight of being leant against a tree!!!

A friend of mine ordered one of the last TTR2's from Cheshire Gun Room. The walnut stocks are amazing and quite a bit chunkier than the synthetic ones, not obviously though. Bit heavier too, but not as shocking as the weight of that shroud haha
I did hear about the rail screw problems, but to be honest I've never even used the rail in mine.
It does look nice!

My old airgun buyers guide's state synthetic stock, 2011 states synthetic now black only (previously also camo/olive drab), 2012 on state walnut black/plain, all metal should be matt finish.
I have a brand new ttr still boxed only shot it once .. very accurate. Been thinking moving it on but not sure if to
